Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is an advanced group of auditioned singers who are the “cream of the crop”. Class size will be smaller. More details coming soon!

Audition Information

Interested students will audition at the end of the Fall semester. Students will prepare a selected piece in their own voice part. Students should come prepared to sing their voice part independently in a mixed trio.

- The class will be focused on sight singing, blend and tone quality and more difficult repertoire.

- Chamber Singer participants will also be expected to sing in the concert choir at their desired location. They will be back-to-back classes for a maximum of 90 minutes of singing.

- Students will perform at the MTVA (Middle Tennessee Vocal Association) solo and ensemble event in May.

-Students will be student leaders and will demonstrate excellent rehearsal in and outside of class.

- Two Chamber groups will rehearse. The treble group (SSA) will rehearse in Columbia with Rachel Verdon immediately following Concert Choir. Open to ages 10-18. The mixed group (SATB) will rehearse in Lewisburg with Sarah Latch immediately following Concert Choir. Open to ages 10-18.

- 1-2 weekends of intensive music prep will be required outside of class.
