About Our Program

About Us

  • Harmony Homeschool Choir began in 2019, rehearsing in Cornersville, TN with 13 young but dedicated singers under the direction of Sarah Latch and with Sharon Pennington accompanying on piano. We have now grown to six separate choirs, a theory course and over 130 participating students.

  • In 2020 Harmony Choir was graciously given the opportunity to rehearse and perform a commissioned piece, “Our Father”, by Dan Boone.

  • In 2021 we added a Music Theory Course and continue to enrich our program with new opportunities for our singers.

  • Harmony now has rehearsals in both Lewisburg and Columbia, and has grown to include two Treble Choirs for beginning singers aged 8-12, two Concert Choirs for singers aged 13-18, and two auditioned groups making up our Chamber Singers.

Our Mission

Our program exists to provide homeschooled students in the surrounding areas with a quality choral experience, to learn to work as a choral group, and to individually pursue excellence in choral performance.

What People Are Saying:

“Not only has my child thoroughly enjoyed singing in the group, he enjoys having another social circle in which to meet friends. Ms. Sarah is patient and has a good rapport with the children, but keeps order and stays on target with the daily goals—even working in music theory and vocal production tips! The song choices are diverse and challenge the children as well. There is no other group like it locally. I am blessed to have my child involved.”

“Our girls entered into the choir with some skepticism over whether they would enjoy it or find it beneficial. It has quickly become one of their favorite activities of the whole week and they can’t stop talking about how much they love the group and the music they get to perform!”

I was so excited when I found out there would be a choir for the homeschool community here in Marshall County, and close to our home. After one semester all four of my kids that participated had grown in confidence and musical knowledge with regards to using their voices and singing in harmony with others. Sarah is an excellent teacher enthusiastically directing the children with firmness but also with a lot of fun. My kids love this program and the friends they have made! I highly recommend for those looking to add music to their children’s academic pursuits!
